Invisalign for adults

At Dr. Paul J. Styrt, Specialists in Orthodontics & Pediatric Dentistry, we are a Certified Invisalign® provider. We truly believe in the effectiveness of this invisible orthodontic treatment. That is why we offer our patients a free consultation so you can find out how Invisalign could benefit you.

Here’s a bit more information about Invisalign so you can make an informed decision about this virtually invisible treatment option.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a revolutionary orthodontic appliance which has changed the orthodontic industry. The method uses a series of invisible, removable aligners to move your teeth into position. Because the aligners are virtually invisible, your treatment can happen without anyone noticing.

The aligners are made with 3D computer imaging technology. This technology tracks the movement of your teeth which means you can see what your teeth will look like even before you’ve started treatment. The combination of technology and the bespoke manufacturing of the aligners make them extremely effective and comfortable to wear.

We’re not the only ones who believe in this treatment. More than 70% of orthodontists in the US and Canada are certified to treat patients with Invisalign. Since the aligners were created, more than 5 million people have worn them to achieve a beautiful smile.

How does Invisalign work?

Throughout treatment, you will wear between 18 and 30 sets of aligners. Each set is worn for about two weeks. Every six weeks when you come in for your appointment we will issue you with a couple of sets at a time. It is your responsibility to change them as instructed. Every set of aligners is shaped slightly differently so they build on the work of the previous set. Little by little, week by week your teeth will gradually move into their final position.

Treatment time with Invisalign typically lasts between nine and 15 months, but both the number of aligners worn and the length of treatment will vary for each patient.

Types of Invisalign

At Dr. Paul J. Styrt, Specialists in Orthodontics & Pediatric Dentistry, we use the following types of Invisalign:

  • Invisalign Comprehensive
  • Invisalign Lite
  • Invisalign Express
  • Invisalign First

Benefits of Invisalign

Invisalign has significant benefits for our patients. These include:

  • Discreet treatment – the aligners are virtually invisible so no one will be able to tell you’re wearing them.
  • Removable – Because the aligners are removable, you can take them out to eat and drink.
  • Confidence – You can take the aligners out for important occasions such as a business meeting or a family wedding (not that you’ll need to because no one will be able to tell you’re wearing them anyway!)
  • Oral hygiene – Keeping your teeth clean is no problem with Invisalign. Simply remove the aligners and you can brush and floss as per normal.
  • Comfortable – Because the aligners are custom-made for your teeth, they are comfortable to wear. The plastic won’t cause mouth abrasions during treatment either like metal braces can do.
  • Fewer appointments - No metal and wires mean less adjustments are needed so fewer visits to see us. That’s convenience!
  • See into the future - Invisalign allows you to view your own virtual treatment plan when you start so you can see how your straight teeth will look when your treatment is complete.
