Initial Visit

OfficeWelcome to our office. We are looking forward to meeting you and helping you with your orthodontic care. We have created a warm, casual, and fun atmosphere for you and your family. At our office we pride ourselves on educating our patients each step of the way. Our team has a wealth of dental and orthodontic knowledge to share with you. We’re proud of the fact they we have over 150 years of combined experience and training in dentistry and orthodontics.

We have a sense of teamwork and professionalism you won’t find anywhere else. This is a one-of-a-kind world-class practice where we pride ourselves not only in our clinical excellence, but also in creating lasting personal relationships with our patients and their families. We utilize the latest technological advances in the industry, such as ceramic braces, self-ligating braces, and Invisalign. We also use the latest in computer technology including digital radiographs, digital imaging, digital photographs, and advanced computer graphics to ensure you receive the most effective care possible.

It is common practice today in many orthodontic offices to utilize “second-hand” and recycled braces and wires. We feel each patient deserves the best quality; therefore we do NOT reuse braces or wires. Rest assured, your braces, wires and appliances are brand new and custom made for only you. Thus, our fees may be slightly higher than in an office where the appliances and wires are recycled. We work hard to keep our costs down, but not at the expense of our patients. At the end of the day, you really do get what you pay for and we work very hard to exceed your expectations.

Dr. Styrt has set aside a complimentary one hour consultation for you. So that we may continue offering this as a courtesy to our patient’s, please contact the office at least 24 hours in advance should you need to reschedule.

You will first be greeted in the reception area by one of our warm and knowledgeable Front Office Coordinators. We will then take you on a tour of our beautiful state-of-the-art office. Next, a complimentary digital x-ray and a series of digital photographs will be taken to assist Dr. Styrt with his diagnosis and treatment recommendations. Our Treatment Coordinator and Dr. Styrt will then complete a thorough exam, outlining the orthodontic treatment plan needed and answer any questions that you may have.

Payment Options

After your exam, our treatment coordinator will discuss the estimated cost of treatment with you. We offer three different payment options to suit different budgets, including a no-down-payment with a low monthly fee option. Cost of treatment is based on severity of the patient's problem, as well as the quality of care patients receive in our office. This will also be discussed at the consultation appointment prior to initiating any treatment, thus making the most of the valuable time you have set aside from your busy schedule to meet with us. We accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express, as well as cash or checks.

The cost of orthodontics varies upon the treatment length and severity of the problem. We offer a complimentary consultation for your first visit. We strongly believe in the incredible value of orthodontic care, and we work very hard to create the greatest value for your care. We understand that orthodontics is a personal as well as financial investment. Therefore our practice offers several payment options:
  • Pre-Payment Courtesy - We offer a bookkeeping courtesy for payment in full.
  • In Office Financing-We offer no interest special financial arrangements.
  • Third Party Financing-This option is helpful when choosing to treat multiple family members at one time, or when a family would like to extend their payments longer than the course of treatment.



Insurance

Office PoliciesInsurance coverage will be confirmed upon arrival at the office to help you determine available benefits. Assignment of benefits to us is available in most instances, and we will bill your company as a courtesy to you. We will help in every way we can in filing your claim and handling insurance questions from our office on your behalf. We are dedicated to help you receive your maximum benefit from your insurance company.

Scheduling Appointments

We have devoted considerable time and effort into designing our scheduling system. Our goals are to see our patients on time, have adequate time to perform the scheduled procedures, and answer any questions you may have. In addition, we want to work with your schedule to minimize time away from school or work. We believe our scheduling system allows us to be efficient, quality-oriented, and respectful to all parties involved.

We know your time is valuable, that is why we utilize “Doctor Time Scheduling”. This is the most advanced scheduling system available. This scheduling system allows us to schedule the exact time within the procedure that Dr. Styrt is needed. This provides each patient the time they deserve while staying on-time and minimizing waiting.

When appliances (expanders, braces etc.) are first placed, the appointment is longer. All longer procedures, which are few in number, are scheduled during the morning. This allows our afternoon schedule to better accommodate most of your shorter appointment needs, thus accommodating more families. Adjustment appointments, which are shorter and more numerous, are scheduled at six to twelve week intervals and can often be made before or after school. We strongly recommend scheduling the next appointment before you leave the office.

In case of emergency, please call the office first so that we may offer you a specific appointment time. If you drop by the office without an appointment, we may be out of the office, at lunch, or in a team meeting and unable to address your problem. An emergency consists of anything poking, scratching or cutting your cheek or gums that you cannot take care of with wax. Please contact us if you have a loose bracket and we will schedule the appropriate appointment, as it is not an emergency.

We make it a priority in our office to see you at your appointment time. To be fair to those patients who arrive on time, arriving late for your appointment will result in a shortened appointment or a rescheduling of the appointment and a resultant delay in treatment progress. Last minute cancellations or failure of scheduled appointments make it difficult to reschedule appointments immediately, since appointments are scheduled six to twelve weeks in advance. This will also result in a delay of your treatment. We appreciate a call if you cannot make your appointment, so that someone else may take advantage of your appointment time.

As a courtesy, we have available an automated house-call appointment reminder service. This computerized system will call a designated phone number and leave a message confirming your appointment day and time. We also have available an e-mail reminder service. Simply provide us with your e-mail and a computer generated e-mail will be delivered to you. Both appointment confirmation services usually run two days before the scheduled appointment. Please be advised, if there is a power outage or computer failure, there may not be an appointment reminder via telephone or e-mail. Please keep your appointment card that you are offered when scheduling your appointment in the office.
